Whether you are learning about American History now, later, or have already learned about our country in the past, this presentation by an artist from “Arts Teach” at the Segerstrom Center  will give your child a new perspective on this country’s history.

After seeing how interested our students were about the Veterans of America’s Wars on “Veterans Day”,  we asked the Segerstrom Center to help us bring something patriotic exclusively to our BEE students.  Not only did they offer us a really great show, but we are also able to offer it to the Boys and Girls Club as part of our appreciation to the city.

A live performing Arts experience is unique in that it validates and reinforces a student’s cultural identity.   Aesthetic growth is achieved by new or challenging works that are relatively unfamiliar.   Seeing a live performance  integrates educational objectives into your everyday curriculum for language arts, visual arts, writing, oral communication, and listening skills.

Transcripts for your ES will be available at the Event for you to take home.

Testimonial from previous show….

I just wanted to thank whoever coordinated the Patriotic Songs event as well as the visit from the Veterans.

Sadly, the public schools my kids were in did not teach these songs.  It is sad to think that today’s generation is growing up without them.

My kids did get some exposure to the Star Spangled Banner through Scouts.

We start each day homeschooling (well, we’re not perfect…almost every day!) with the Pledge, a patriotic song, and a prayer.

My youngest taught me that Yankee Doodle was actually a song sung by the British to make fun of the Yankees.  I never knew that!

And they loved the stories from the vets.

We are so blessed to be a part of HEART.

Thank you and please send my thanks on to the person/people who coordinated this event.

In Christ,

Laura Yan
