As the holiday seasons approach and the year draws to a close, I am reminded of all that BEE did this year and over the last 8 years of working within the homeschool community. I want to personally express my deepest appreciation for you placing your confidence and trust in me and the others involved as we grow BEE together. Thanks to your investment of being involved in and sharing our classes, as well as special programs with others, you have made a huge impact into many lives. I apologize that I don’t say nearly enough the “Thank You” that needs to be said everyday.
A recent Article came to my attention that speaks to the value of a deeper learning experience.
Here is an excerpt:
To develop a positive academic mindset, these are four key beliefs students must hold:
- I can change my intelligence and abilities through effort
- I can succeed
- I belong in this learning community
- This work has value and purpose for me
When those beliefs are present and paired with learning strategies to help with effective self-management, any student can be successful.
Thanks to you, BEE is seeing this happen more and more every day. Students who are changing their mindsets to see that they can succeed, they have many skills to offer and are growing in their learning community.
This has been very rewarding to see and I hope to share more with you as the students realize that they can succeed and take ownership of their education and future.
I plan to be more verbal about letting you know how you are changing lives. Your simple act of letting others know about these experiences that are available to them has changed many lives over the last 8 years.
For example, thanks to you for sharing and telling others about the Laura Ingalls Day and show. The families that came from as far away as Burbank and Laverne were happy to delve in and deepen the learning of their studies in that time period. The students had huge smiles as they shared and talked about life in the pioneer days as well as made projects to represent and add to their understanding of the time period.
If you are not connected with us on Facebook, I would encourage you to check out our page so that you can see the albums of pictures that are samples of what is going on in the many classes and special events.
We also couldn’t do it without the wider community of investors and supporters.
Thanks for the board members past and present that have kept us focused and gave us the ability to become a 501 c3 public benefit corporation to help and serve the many other homeschool groups.
Thanks to the community of partners that have helped us with facilities and special arrangements to bring us professional artists to engage us in our curriculum and ignite learning with their passion for their Art discipline.
Congratulations to you! You are making a difference in hundreds of families all over the OC and from them I say THANK YOU to you.
